Game Creation in 2D

Have any of you peeps done much 2D game creation?

Here is a link to a program called Stencyl:

Stencyl was designed around the Scratch programming concept developed at MIT:

No where near as painful as Alice (I can hear the screams already).

You peeps should be pretty quick in picking up how to create a 2D game since you’ve all done pretty well with your ITS 103 and 118 classes. If not, I can always help since I’ve used Stencyl a few times.

It’s free to download and use:

You can make your game, play it online, and share it online without buying a software license.

You only need to pay for a software license if you want to make your games available for iPhone. Essentially, you need to pay for a software license when you want to make money on your games developed with Stencyl.

If you’re not busy already, try and experiment with it.

I am a technologist with a strong background in software engineering. I have many interests. My current distractions are 70s-80s-90s music [it's a very eclectic collection], ontology, information architecture, mobile device technology, medical bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, and nanorobotics.
